Essex Region Conservation Foundation - Create opportunities for every member of the community to invest in our environment.

Donate

We need to create a sustainable region - but we cannot do this alone. Since 1977, the Foundation has supported the Essex Region Conservation Authority by raising the funds required to reforest and green the Essex region, protect those significant natural areas that remain, plant new forests in strategic locations, restore wetlands, protect cultural heritage and increase green connection through acquiring and developing trails.

Please join us in protecting and restoring our region's habitat - for all generations to come.

All funds raised are used locally to protect and restore the environment of Windsor, Essex County, and Pelee Island.

Friends of Conservation

Become a Friend of Conservation by making a monthly gift to the Essex Region Conservation Foundation. It is one of the most manageable and effective ways you can protect and improve our local environment. Your pre-authorized gift is automatically debited from your credit card each month. It is convenient for you, and provides the Foundation with a steady, reliable source of conservation funds.

As a thank you for becoming a Friend of Conservation, we will send you a complimentary Conservation Areas pass, as well as advanced notification of all ERCA and ERCF community events. (Minimum donation $10/month)

Deed to the Greenway

Give a gift of a symbolic metre of the Chrysler Canada Greenway today! Each Deed is $49 and the gift recipient will receive a certificate as well as have their name added to the Trans-Canada Trail Pavilion, which is located at the Oldcastle Community Entrance to the Chrysler Canada Greenway (on Highway 3 just east of Walker Road). You will receive a tax receipt for this donation.

The Chrysler Canada Greenway is a community resource of over 50 kilometres of trail stretching from Oldcastle through Tecumseh, Essex, Harrow, Kingsville, and Ruthven. CN has now announced a donation of 26 kilometres of abandoned rail line that extends from near the Detroit River in Amherstburg to the urban centre of Essex. We look forward to developing this additional trail section, bringing our vision one-step closer to reality, of linking our region with a trail network.

Gift that Honours

The Gift that Honours program provides you with the opportunity to celebrate the life of a loved one or an important milestone, while supporting reforestation and forest management throughout our community.

In a region where only 7.5% of our land base remains in a natural state, the significance of reforestation cannot be overstated. Trees within our communities provide us with a long list of benefits; they improve our health and lifestyles, remove carbon from our air, reduce energy expense, and provide shelter for birds and other wildlife.

Your donation will provide a lasting recognition while enhancing our natural community with the planting of native tree species in our region.

Recognition labels are not attached to the trees or shrubs to ensure their continued good health. When you purchase a Gift that Honours, a card will be sent to notify the recipient of your gift, along with a beautiful keepsake. All donors receive a tax receipt for the full amount of each donation.
